This auction features works from three historic art collections including the estate of Jack and Aviva Robinson. The Robinsons were early pioneer glass collectors in the Detroit area and much of their prestigious collection was donated to the Detroit Institute of the Arts. The work comes from a variety of estates and each work is in fine condition. The final work in this offering, Primary Vessel by Howard Ben Tré, is being offered from the seller's estate in New York. This museum quality masterpiece is the only one to be offered virtually.

Welcome to Habatat Detroit Fine Art “Masterworks: A Contemporary Glass Auction”. This is our 5th auction on the eastern coast of Florida and to celebrate, Habatat is presenting an outstanding selection of International glass artworks. With a few exceptions, this auction is composed of two very divergent collections. One is from a prominent collector, well known for his connoisseurship in the glass medium with a special interest in cast glass. Another is the Gilda Birmingham collection, which is comprised of significant early works in miniature scale. In the middle of the auction, we will offer this body of 12 works which are extremely rare in large part because of their scale. The last time we did an auction in Chicago was 20 years ago and since then our focus has been on our large presentations at the SOFA Expo. As we approach 2020 many noteworthy works are appearing on the market and this auction will offer some very interesting acquisition opportunities.
