Habatat is honored to present artist James Labold solo exhibition titled Icons of Futures Past opening this Friday August 14th here at Habatat as well as on Artsy.net. The artist will give a talk this Saturday August 15th at 1pm via Habatat-Zoom and discuss his work and share images of his studio and process.
James Labold intertwines his work with the political agendas of the world today. His work reflects the experiences of the news media glorifying the polarized political world that we cannot escape. Icons of Futures Past offers a visual narrative of political identity along with recognizable icons that are relatable to the context. James Labold’s sculptures are some of the most innovative work being created today. We are honored to be offing these six works through Habatat in Royal Oak, Michigan. The display at Habatat will also include multiple artworks by other artists. Habatat is the oldest and largest contemporary art gallery in the USA offing artwork creating using glass as their art medium from around the world. Established in 1971, Habatat has been in the Detroit area for almost 50 years.
